In 2010 our University was the only one in the Central Federal District of Russia to be awarded the title of National Research University. It currently occupies the 16th position in the national ranking of 29 National Research Universities. In 2012 it was selected as one of the top 30 Russian universities out of 103 state HEIs and 500 branches.
We have created an advanced innovative and technological complex that allows commercializing our research products through opening small innovative enterprises and entering the market with competitive achievements.
Our University delivers a multi-cycle structure of education which is compatible with Bologna requirements. We have been at the forefront of development of new Bachelor and Master Degree programs to respond to the demand of the regional labour market. In order to meet the specific needs of industrial and commercial sectors of the region we have included such priority fields of study as Science-Intensive Technologies of Industrial Nanomaterials Production and Processing; Nanomaterials in Biology, Medicine and Pharmacy; Extraterrestrial, Geoinformation, Telecommunication and IT Technologies, Sustainable Socio-Economic Development of Regions.
Being committed to ensuring the cultural environment in Belgorod region, NRU “BelSU” encourages and facilitates talented and creative people. We ensure that our students are afforded the opportunity to develop their full potential in onstage performance groups at the University Cultural Centre. We provide a wide range of recreation and sport facilities including Sports Complex of Svetlana Khorkina, Nezhegol Natural Park, Equestrian School, summer camp on the Back Sea.
