Khatlon State Medical University is a national university of the Republic of Tajikistan and positioned in Dushanbe. KSMU was established in 1947.
The University contains 19 faculties, publishing, research selection, a botanical garden. That provides trained in 56 fields/specialities. In 2009/2010 the new faculty of Pharmacology was opened based on existed natural faculty.
The University is proud of graduates working at the various most senior government positions, such as a President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, many ministers and others. Amongst graduates of the School there are prominent researchers academicians and associates of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Admission Criteria
The candidate must have passed 10+2 with physics, chemistry Biology and English from an recognized educational establishment with min marks of 50% in physics, Chemistry & Biology in aggregate (GEN) and 40% for (SC/ST).

University has cooperation links with over 80 scientific educational institutions of Canada, Austria, France, Germany, Sweden, Poland, China, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, as well as successful joint projects with WHO, SDC, USAID, GIZ, Global Fund, Soros Foundation, DAAD, TEMPUS, ISTC, UNFPA that contributes to the development of all-round cooperation with foreign partners.
